Forum: feature_films Subject: A "nudie cutie" jamboree: any PDs in this batch?

I found a source for numerous nudie-cutie films from the '60s; unfortunately, I am unable to pre-view any before I set out to acquire them. Thus, I cannot check for copyright notices or similar info.

Can anyone help me winnow these titles? I have no particular interest in these films myself, but if they are suitable for IA, I'll get them and upload. Thanks for any help.

Adam and Six Eves (1962)

Adventures of Lucky Pierre (1961)

Erotica (1961)
Exploitation auteur and mammary-enthusiast Russ Meyer directs this lurid journey into female sexuality told in six segments: “Naked Innocence,” “Beauties, Bubbles, and H2O,” “The Bear and the Bare,” “Nudists on the High Seas,” “The Nymphs,” and “The Bikini Busters.”

Goldilocks and the Three Bares (1963)
Nudie-cutie" considered the first nudie-musical (filmed in "Buffocolor" and "Seemorescope") displays scads of female nudity as folks go about their business in a nudist camp, including a ten-minute horseback (bareback) riding scene.

Heavenly Bodies (1963)
Taking a look at the connection that glamour models have to photography, a group of film makers follow a number of photographers for glamour magazines around to discover the skill involved in getting “magic” to appear on the photos.

Hideout in the Sun (1960)
Two brothers rob a bank and take a young girl hostage. They find out that the girl is a nudist, so they force her to take them to a nudist colony so they can hide out.

Mr. Peter’s Pets (1963)
Three girls on a tour of the English countryside meet up with two young women who introduce them to the joys of life in a nudist camp.

Nature’s Playmates (1962)
Nude twisting! Nude trampolining! Nude beatniks! These are among the many highlights of Nature’s Playmates. Private investigator Russ Harper and his brassy blonde assistant, Diana, are hired by a Mrs. Elliot to find her missing husband, Paul: "I’m afraid my husband is in a nudist camp somewhere doing heaven knows what!"

Not Tonight, Henry (1960)
Hank Henry is more than a little frustrated at the "lack of attention" he is getting at home from his wife and starts dreaming up amorous escapades with sirens from the past... Cleopatra, Josephine, Delilah and others.

Nudes on Tiger Reef (1965)
A Broadway director goes to a Florida nudist camp for a rest. He's shocked to discover that the star of his Broadway show is also a nudist and he decides to make a movie there with her.

She agrees, and while touring the camp finds herself attracted to one of the patrons. The trouble is, so does another young woman at the camp. Complications ensue.

She Should Have Stayed in Bed (1963)
A New York photographer takes photos of various tenants in a posh apartment building while waiting for a nude pin-up model to show up for him at his studio.

Wild Gals of the Naked West (1962)
An old geezer recalls some of the antics of the men and women of his western town, more wild and woolly than Tombstone or Dodge City. In this town no one is a good shot, the women are hungry for new meat, and practical jokers abound. A stranger strolls into town, proving resistant to the mayhem, and after donning some cowboy duds begins cleaning up that town.

Good luck, Freddie. The members who usually provide PD verifications seem to have become inactive, or hopefylly are just on vacation. In the meantime you might check Something Weird Video. If they sell these items the chances are reasonably good they are PD.

Oldbones, i can use more guidance. I have copies of "Crazy Wild and Crazy" and of "She Should Have Stayed in Bed."

"She Should Have Stayed" 's ending shows "copyright 1963 Cinema Syndicate, Inc." and, superimposed on the opening footage "Something Weird Video Special Edition (c) 1994" (the only "special" thing I can find is the SWV ghost-logo in the film's bottom corner.

"Crazy" has a generic SWV leader (which I can trim) but has no copyright info at either end.

Okay to upload these, or not? Thanks.

"Crazy"....being released in '64 needed a valid notice, lack of which makes it pd. I would trim the logo.

"She Should Have"...released in '63, it need to be registered. It wasn't so that makes it pd. I agree that the logo probably is the only "special". Searching 'Something Weird Video' at USCO yields three entries, see link below, none of which have to do with "She Should Have"...

http://cocatalog.loc.gov/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?Search_Arg=something+weird+video&;Search_Code=NALL&PID=fm9Lq_HUVtPzY8oI-zrpR1qj-M7Lb&SEQ=20150822084355&CNT=25&HIST=1

A search of USCO using "She Should Have Stayed in Bed" comes up empty.
Registration is not required for legal actions, so if they in fact did something creative, there could be problems.

When you have some time to kill check out the following,

http://chart.copyrightdata.com/OnePageGuide.html

lot of good info there.

Thanks. I'm finding others with the "special edition" overprint, so I'll tread lightly with those. No sense looking for trouble!

Many thanks! I took picfixer's advice and checked out Something Weird Video (which yielded many likely titles), but you've obviously actually looked them up. I'm gonna stick with the clearly non-registered/renewed titles for now, and upload as I get them.
